We are based in the ‘Outdoor Works’ area of Bedales School, which is situated in the village of Steep, just outside the market town of Petersfield. Bedales is accessed easily via the A3 and is roughly 50 miles from London and 20 miles from Portsmouth.
Bedales School is a twenty minute walk from Petersfield Station. There is a taxi rank at the railway station.
Please support our friendly Courtyard Bar that is stocked with a great selection of wine, prosecco, lager, ale, and soft drinks. The drinks are chilled, you won’t have to carry heavy bottles in your picnic and there are no glasses to wash up!
You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy before the performance. The auditorium will open an hour and a half before the show begins. Please note that space is at a premium so please be considerate with the size of your picnic area.
A bell will ring ten minutes before the performance is due to begin which will allow you time to clear away and for our Front of House staff to accommodate the rest of the audience. Picnic tables will need to be dismantled to make room for other theatre-goers.
The Cricketers at 1 Church Rd, Steep, is offering a pizza delivery service to the Sotherington Barn so if you haven’t got time to put a picnic together ring 01730 261035 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to place your order and arrange a delivery time. The pizzas are all cooked in a wood-fired oven.
Madeleine’s Kitchen on Lavant Street offers a tailored picnic service; call or email them on 01730 260102 and email@example.com
Please support our bar which will be selling prosecco, white and red wine (by the bottle and by the glass), draft and bottled beers, lager, cider and soft drinks. It’s much easier than carrying heavy bottles with your picnic, our drinks are chilled and there are no glasses for you to wash up!

The weather is, as we all know, very changeable; do make sure that you have suitable clothing so that the evening chill does not hamper your enjoyment of the show.
If the weather is very bad, the shows will go on unless there is thought to be a safety concern. In the unlikely event of a cancellation you will be offered tickets for an alternative evening, subject to availability, or for next year’s Festival.
PSF has flat access throughout, although the terrain is a little uneven and there are some slopes. Our staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the evening and would be delighted to help if you need assistance.
The terrain is grass with gravel pathways. There are 2 wheelchair positions in the auditorium, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve these in advance.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of the stewards who will ensure you are removed to an area of safety. The assembly point is in front of the Art and Design building.
There is a qualified first aider on site at all times during public opening hours.
Should you have a medical emergency please notify a steward as soon as possible.
