Monologues and More

psf 2020 online events

To keep Shakespeare firmly in hearts and minds this summer, we will be producing a daily online programme of new writing, old favourites and interviews during the Festival dates, all free of charge.

These will include the winning entries from our Shake it Up monologue competition, performed by our regular PSF company members.

Why not treat yourself to a daily dose of Shakespeare?

All content is still available on YouTube.

PERFORMANCE

Romeo and Juliet

'a pair of star-crossed lovers'

One small village with only a pub and a church to its name.

One week in the sweltering hot summer.

Nothing to do.

Two people fall in love with disastrous consequences. Only one woman knows everything.

Could she have stopped it?

With heavy hearts, we have decided to cancel this production for 2020, due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. Please click here for our full statement.

Shake It Up

A creative writing competition

Ever wondered why Montague fell out with Capulet?
Ever wondered how Friar Lawrence knew so much about drugs?
Ever wondered if the Nurse had children of her own?

Well if so, this is your opportunity to tell their story.

As part of a new look for 2020, the Petersfield Shakespeare Festival is running an exciting creative writing competition to find amazing monologues and dynamic duologues which will be performed as curtain raisers for our centre-piece production of Romeo and Juliet.

This competition closed on the 3rd April, and the winning entries will form part of our online festival in July.
